The Band
Posted By TINJ
John Price
Vocals
John, 28, was born and raised in Middletown, Ohio. For two years prior to joining Tinj, John was the front man for Bound. While with Bound, Dave Hammond auditioned and joined the team. However, not long after realizing the talents that Dave and John had together, they decided to break out to form their own band with Lee Hammond, and Thomas Kuntz.
His influences include James Hetfield of Metallica, Phil Anselmo of Pantera and Geoff Tate of Queensryche.
Even though Tinj has only been together for a few months, their shows have consistently sold out and it is evident that will quickly become well known on the metal scene.
“As the lead singer/front man for Tinj, I have found that not only does the music stir my soul, but what inspires me more is the faith that our music will do the same for our fans.” – John
Dave Hammond
Guitar
At the age of 5, Dave received his first guitar. This pivotal desire came after watching the film, "Crossroads", which inspired Dave to wield the six string and forever changed the way he lived from that day on. For the next 19 years he never put the guitar down, studying the works of infamous guitarists all the way from Progressive Shredders, to Classic Rock Icons, he had to know it all. But the true writer came out in him when his cousin Lee got his first drum set. That Birthday would start the beginning of the band known as TINJ, and the rest has yet to come.

Lee Hammond
Drums
Starting at age 11, Lee was introduced to a wide variety of musical genres. From Concert and Symphonic bands to Percussion and Jazz Ensembles, not to mention the countless Rock and Metal groups he has been a part of, Lee has definitely had the chance to experience the many limbs of the musical Drum and Percussion world. With this exposure, combined with years of disciplined practice & listening, he has reached a musical maturity level needed to create and perform the devastatingly beautiful movements that are TINJ.
His influences are: Steve Vai, Mike Mangini, Dennis Chambers, Pantera, Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, Vince Hammond, any Dimmu Borgir song with Nick Barker, and funk songs that make you say "uh!" out loud.
Thomas Kunz
Bass
Started playing bass because I just fell in love with that smooth low end, and I like being the balls/nuts behind the music. Through disciplined practice and patience I’ve somehow made it to the skill level I am at now. It all started when I met Dave Hammond my junior year of high school where we jammed and meshed well. We started jamming with his little cousin Lee and wrote a few songs. We struggled to find a singer that fit with us, and then John Price walked into our lives. Everything snowballed from there. I hope to continue creating music that make peoples’ heads move for years to come….
Influences Include: Dave Hammond, Lee Hammond, John Price, Bill Dickens, Larry Graham, Victor Wooten (of course), Billy Sheehan, Marcus Miller, (which, who is a bass player and not influenced by these guys?), and also countless unrecognized bassists I’ve heard via YouTube, MySpace, radio, TV and so on…
